About Us
The inspiration for our creations came from a series of odd life events and experiences. We are mother-daughter team, and oddly ended up not only in college together but working at a coffee shop too! As we both were studying Business Administration, we inspired one another’s creativity and passion for entrepreneurship! In early 2022, Mom’s health took a downturn, and she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus, Nephritis Stage 3. This series of events forced Mom into a permanent medical leave.
To stay busy, Mom began making jewelry for her daughters. When they wore them out, people began to ask where they got their jewelry. What began as a hobby, blossomed into the concept of Luly Lily and Company!
As of 2023, Mom graduated from Northwood University with her Bachelors in Business Administration. Lulu graduated with two Associates Degrees: Associates in Arts: Business Administration & Associate of Applied Sciences: Business Management from Alpena Community College. She began her career as a Marketing Specialist while she enjoys crafting social media content for Lulu Lily & Co.
Behind the Name, a message from Mom:
Lulu is the nickname I gave to Lexie when she was a little girl. She always had her own unique sense of style that was fun, quirky, and adorable. Lily has a strong meaning attached to it. The lily flower represents grieving, but also rebirth. When my daughters supported and inspired me to create jewelry for them, it helped me find a new purpose.
I refuse to let this illness stop me from making my dreams come true! We have found success in two treatments that sustain kidney function and Lupus remission. I have good and bad days, but my faith is bigger than my fear! After earning my bachelor’s degree in business administration, I am now focusing full-time on our small business. Now we have the knowledge, and the capabilities to build a business and life we love living, no matter our limitations!
Lulu Lily and Company is about family, love, life, joy, gratitude, and happiness. Everything we craft is uniquely designed, and most pieces are one of a kind. We have created collections representing Lily, or Mom and daughter Taylor, where our styles are more classical and shabby chic. Lulu’s collections are hip, fun, eclectic, and sassy!
