OUR STORY
About Lulu Lily and Company

The inspiration for our creations came from a series of odd life events and experiences. We are mother and daughter, and oddly ended up not only in college together but working at a coffee shop too! As we both were studying Business Administration, we inspired one another’s creativity and passion for entrepreneurship! Things were going well, as Mom graduated with her Associates and moved up the ladder in her career to General Manager while continuing to earn her bachelor's degree. In early 2022, Mom’s health took a downturn, and she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus, Nephritis Stage 3, and has had two Lymphoma scares. This series of events forced Mom into what should have been a temporary medical leave, but eventually turned permanent.

Throughout the course of lots of doctors, specialists, and treatments, Mom began crafting unique pieces of jewelry for her daughters. Mom is often homebound, and her mobility is limited sometimes, so being able to sit and still be creative was perfect for her! The hobby became so enjoyable that both daughters began offering their own perspectives for designs and collaborations. As they wore their jewelry, they received so many compliments and were asked where they got them! The concept of Lulu Lily and Company evolved, and we began to brainstorm how to make it happen!

As of 2023, Mom graduated from Northwood University with her Bachelors in Business Administration. Lulu graduated with two Associates Degrees: Associates in Arts: Business Administration & Associate of Applied Sciences: Business Management from Alpena Community college. She is gaining important experience as a Marketing Specialist intern while she enjoys crafting social media content for Lulu Lily & Co.

Behind the Name, a message from Mom:

Lulu is the nickname I gave to Lexie when she was a little girl. She always had her own unique sense of style that was fun, quirky, and adorable. Lily has a strong meaning attached to it. The lily flower represents grieving, but also rebirth. As I was grieving the loss of my career and previous lifestyle, I felt lost and was desperately seeking a new meaning and purpose. When my daughters supported and inspired me to create jewelry for them, it helped me find that purpose. Without them, the grieving process would have been so much harder.

Although I have been diagnosed with an incurable disease that consistently challenges me to overcome its effects on my body, I still have dreams. I will graduate in Spring of 2023 with my bachelor’s degree in business administration. Lexie will continue to pursue hers after graduating in late 2022. We both have a dream, the mindset, the knowledge, and the capabilities to build a business and life we love living, no matter our limitations!

Lulu Lily and Company is about family, love, life, joy, gratitude, and happiness. We appreciate the beauty of art, creativity, and fashion. Everything we craft is uniquely designed, and most pieces are one of a kind. We have created collections representing Lily, or Mom and daughter Taylor, where our styles are more classical and shabby chic. Lulu’s collections are hip, fun, eclectic, and sassy!

By supporting our small business, you are supporting a mother and her daughter’s entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, bond, and new life journey. Our pieces are created with love, and we hope you will find the beauty in them just as we do! Thank you for supporting us on this journey!
